At a junction of two roads
all directions seemed to merge.
A traffic signal stood winking its glow,
regulating the flow of traffic and allowing every pedestrian to cross the road.
It’s flashes of red, amber and green inculcated discipline into the scene.
One cursed day it failed to function
and chaos spilled over the junction.
A jam was seen because each wanted to move without consideration for the other.
The same commuters appeared strangely with a changed behaviour.
Society too is a gathering of different individuals moving around with divergent views.
Without a system to regulate, it leads
to wanton intrusion and clash of routes.
We too need a signal that prompts us where to stop and allow others to move.
