A River

Born from a single drop,

I begin my earthly journey.

Emerging as a delicate trickle

I find my way out tenaciously.

Slowly making myself visible

as a tiny stream in my infancy.

I grow in width and gather speed rapidly

while rushing over cliffs and through crevices many.

My meandering presence signals the unrestrained adolescence in me.

I am a sight to behold as I take the plunge roaring youthfully while falling from the mountains onto the plains, majestically.

From here I seem stable as I flow maturely with tranquility, influencing everyone around me with my magnanimity.

Finally on reaching the mouth of the sea

I expunge into it with all humility,

to complete my cycle of eternity.
